The benefits of organic food for the planet

Do you eat organic? 🍅🥑🍐🍏

Organic means that farmers do not use any form of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides to grow their produce.

Why is it better for the planet?

The lack of pesticides enhances biodiversity and results in better soil quality and reduced pollution from fertilizer or pesticide run-off.

Conventional farming can cause biodiversity loss, soil erosion, and increased water pollution due to usage of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.

However, many critics are concerned that organic farming has far lower yields as compared to conventional farming, and so requires more land to meet demand.
