Grow your scraps

Replanting your scraps can be a great way to use some of your organic waste to grow some of your favorite ingredients, and have some beautiful indoor or outdoor plants at home. 🌿🌿

For avocados, you just have to wash the seed and put it over water in a bowl enough to cover the bottom inch of the seed. It can take up to six weeks for the stem and roots to appear. When the leaves appear, you can plant the seed in soil, remembering to leave about half of it above ground.

For pineapples, just cut the top off and hold it above water. Keep it in direct sunlight. You will notice roots in about a week or so and you can then transplant into soil. If you live in a cool area, it is best to grow your pineapple indoors.

There are many other fruits and vegetables that you can easily grow from the scraps, just look it up online and find out how to do it! (potatoes, celery, onions, garlic, pumpkins, and many more!)

And remember to compost the rest of your scraps 😉 Easy!
