Mexico City has passed a bill to ban single-use plastic from December 2020 in shops and businesses.
These include single-use plastic bags, straws, cutlery, cups and coffee capsules.
Mexico City is only behind New York City when it comes to producing waste. The city produces around 13,000 tons of waste every single day.
Let’s now push for Mexico’s federal government to replicate the single-use plastic ban nationwide.
