Did you know?
Pakistan plans to plant 10 billion trees over 5 years to combat deforestation due to illegal logging and building development.
It is an expansion of the existing “billion tree tsunami” project to restore 350,000 hectares of forest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Years of deforestation, combined with climate change, have led to a spike in temperatures in the north of the country, which has caused glaciers to melt. As well as releasing oxygen, the trees are expected to help prevent flooding from glaciers.
Remember, you too can support reforestation all over the world! Sponsor a tree! Easy!
