Reusable makeup remover pads vs. Disposable pads or wipes

What is the most sustainable option for makeup remover pads?

Most people use disposable cotton pads or wipes to remove their makeup.

In average, each woman uses 3 cotton pads per day which amounts to around 1 thousand per year. Plus the plastic packaging!

Cotton pads are often blended with synthetic materials, such as polyester, so are impossible to recycle. If 100% cotton, they can be composted but only if they have not been used to remove make-up or with chemicals such as disinfectants.

All this waste will end up in landfill, and some people even flush it down the toilet! 😱

Why not switch to reusable makeup remover pads?

It’s zero waste! 🌿 You can reuse and wash them a thousand times. Just put them in a small mesh bag and into the washing machine.

Don’t forget to choose a recyclable packaging or even no packaging at all. 😉 Easy!
