Wakame seedweed is a healthy and eco-friendly algae

Did you know?

Wakame seaweed has both nutritional and environmental properties!

It has been cultivated for centuries in Korea and Japan.

Wakame is easy to grow. It can be harvested all year round, grows rapidly without the use of fertilisers or pesticides and supports the water’s biological balance.

In addition to Asia, it is also farmed in sea fields in France, New Zealand, California and Argentina which makes transportation easier.

It contains vitamins and minerals, and is one of the few plant-based sources of the omega 3 fatty acid EPA, which is found almost exclusively in fatty fish.

Wakame is most commonly sold dried and then re-hydrated. You can chop it and add it to soups or fry it and thrown into salads, stir-fries, and side dishes.

Give it a try! 😉
