You can eat sustainable chocolate at Easter

Did you know?

At Easter, you will probably be eating a lot of chocolate. Why not make the switch to a sustainable brand?

Chocolate production starts with cocoa. Intensive production of cocoa is often linked to child labor, slavery, deforestation, and low wages.

To protect the environment and the farmers, try to choose chocolate with labels as the Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance, or UTZ certifications. These are just a start, but they should ensure that workers are paid fairly with safe and environmentally-friendly working conditions.

You can also choose organic chocolate that will have a lesser impact on the environment.

Also do some research about the brand, and see how sustainable it is. And don’t forget about the packaging, try to avoid over packaged individually plastic wrapped chocolates.
